Work at home communications job opportunities for people in rural communities with declining job opportunities. Virtual call center agents could do many things: customer service, tech support, sales, collections, etc.
Environmental benefits of enabling remote workers include the reduction of carbon emissions from commuting, the capping of energy requirements for large facilities by not needing additional expansion, and the reduction of urban sprawl as more workers are finding it necessary to move to urban areas for work. Economic improvements are gained in rural communities by simply enabling local job opportunities. Governments and businesses can benefit economically through increased retention due to limited job opportunities, and often lower labor costs. Social benefits include providing opportunities for parents to have more time with their families while commuting less and increasing job opportunities rural communities.

Project Name: Disaster Displaced Workers Virtual Call Center
Project Location: Anywhere Following a Natural Disaster
Project Start Date: 2008
A virtual call center that can provide rapid job opportunities for people in areas that have experienced a natural disaster. Rapid response job opportunities will be available for people until their local economy can be rebuilt. Disaster recovery areas such as Louisiana in 2005 are examples of potential applications. Job opportunities can be provided as soon as internet access can be restored.
Providing rapid job opportunities allows local residents to remain in their area and contribute to rebuilding their local communities instead of being forced to abandon their communities for job locations. Governments could reduce the cost of aid required by providing tangible work opportunities with productive output.

Project Name: Call Center for the Border State of Chihuahua, Mexico
Project Location: Chihuahua, Mexico
Project Start Date: 2008
To provide job opportunities from Mexican Federal and State government entities as well as private companies to the people of Chihuahua, Mexico.
By creating new local job opportunities, communities in Chihuahua will be able to retain more of their talented young workers who are currently leaving their families for job opportunities outside of the state.

Project Name: Call Center for the People of Palestine & Israel
Project Location: 50% in Palestine, 50% in Israel
Project Start Date: September 2008
A new joint business, co-operative government entity, or non-profit created to provide job opportunities and increased communications for the people of Palestine and the people of Israel. The call center could do many things: promote Tourism, provide customer service, provide collections services, etc.
By creating job opportunities and increasing economic dependence, people will have incentives to turn away from violence in favor of co-existence.
